Imagine The Gap having its very own authentic Farmers’ Market – one where you can buy fresh produce and meat direct from farmers, plus ready-to-eat food and crafted items direct from their makers…
And imagine, while buzzing around the markets with a basket full of wholesome food, that you’re humming along to the market’s live music as your little ones are intrigued by the kids’ corner nearby.
Well imagine no longer because planning for a really fabulous farmers’ market right here in our neighbourhood is well under way!
To be held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 6.30am to 11:00am at The Gap State School, ‘The Gap Farmers’ Market’ is intended to enhance our suburb, support Queensland’s regional producers and directly benefit our local schools and community.
This fresh not-for-profit initiative brings together the ‘get-up-and-go’ energy of The Gap Residents’ Association (www.4061.org.au) and the passion for food and strong farming relationships of John and Erica Parker, founders and operators of the very successful and not-for-profit Moggill Markets (www.moggillmarkets.org.au).
Harcourts Inner West are proud to be a major sponsor of this exciting initiative. Having a farmers’ market in our suburb will build on our already strong sense of community, provide a regular meeting and shopping destination for locals and further enhance the desirability of living in The Gap.
The market will be launching on Sunday 13 July at The Gap State School.
